The Sandcruiser beach accessible wheelchair with balloon wheels

The Sandcruiser.

The beach blue Sandcruiser is an upright, manual, beach wheelchair, suitable for older people, adults, and teenagers. The Sandcruiser seat height is the same as a normal wheelchair  and the arms lift up out of the way, to allow for easy transfer from chair to chair.

The Sandcruiser has large balloon tyres for a smooth ride off the matting, onto the beach and down to the shoreline, but not into the sea. (The Sandcruiser will require either a strong carer/2 carers if venturing off the matting onto the sand)

The unique Trailglider beach accessible wheelchair

The Trail Glider.

‘Reach the Beach’ is rightly proud of the Trail Glider, a ramped wheelchair carriage which is unique and very special, as it provides beach access for those who need to remain in their own wheelchairs.

Your own wheelchair can be pushed up the ramp onto the Trail glider, safely secured, then the Trail Glider can be pushed beyond the matting and across the beach. Getting onto the Trail Glider can be done on the matting, and due to its size, will require two carers.
